Joe Markowski

DAZN, EVP, North America

Joseph Markowski serves as DAZN’s executive vice president for North America and is responsible for overseeing DAZN’s expansion in both the U.S. and Canada. Markowski has been with DAZN since 2011, orchestrating the commercial and operational launch of DAZN in both Japan (2016) and the U.S. (2018).

In his time at DAZN, Markowski has achieved several notable successes that have supported DAZN’s growth on an international scale. While in Japan, he negotiated a deal with Softbank that resulted in an unparalleled collection of regional sports rights, elevating DAZN into the number one sports broadcaster in the country at over one million subscribers. In the U.S., Markowski established DAZN through a $1 billion joint venture with Matchroom Boxing and a partnership with Golden Boy Boxing.

Markowski received his M.B.A. in 2015 from Imperial College where he completed his thesis on the future of over-the-top sports content, which effectively became stage one research for DAZN’s market entry.
