Neal Coffey

S.I Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, Manager of Operations and Engineering

Neal Coffey is the manager of operations and engineering for the Dick Clark Studios located in the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. This is a five studio complex with three production control rooms that serve the academic needs of the Newhouse school and the ACC Network for Syracuse University Athletics. Post facilities include ten dedicated edit suites, a 20 seat training lab, and a 30 seat newsroom. The Newhouse School enrolls more than 2,400 students and Syracuse University has approximately 16,000 undergraduate and 4,000 graduate students.

Coffey has over 35 years experience in television production and engineering. Freelance credits include several networks and international clients. He has taught courses at the Newhouse School for more than 15 years. Coffey currently teaches cinematography and is an Avid certified instructor. He has a bachelor’s degree in telecommunications and a master’s degree in media administration from Syracuse University.
