Alessandro Reitano

Sky Deutschland, VP, Sports Production

Alessandro Reitano joined Sky Deutschland in 2008 and took overall responsibility for sports production in 2015. He was one of the main driving forces behind the development of new technologies and innovations in the field of sports production.

The first Sky 3D sports production started in 2010, followed by the first UHD test recording in 2012.

In 2015, Reitano brought the innovative Free-D technology to Germany, which was used in the DFB Cup Final and the UEFA Champions League Final.

He was also responsible for the first VR live test, which was successfully implemented at the DFB Cup final in 2016.

From the idea to its completion in July 2017, Reitano led the construction of the new Sky Sport HQ broadcasting center in Unterföhring near Munich, which set new standards in studio technology and efficient/effective production processes.

In addition to his role as VP of sports production at Sky Deutschland, Reitano has also acted as chairman of the Sports Video Group Europe (SVG Europe) since May 2019.
